Initial System Flush:
Before first use, the system requires an initial flush to prepare the filters and ensure optimal water quality. This process involves disabling the self-protection mode and flushing the system for a total of 24 hours. During this flushing period, the water is not potable but can be used for other household purposes like watering plants.
To begin the flush:
- Connect the power adapter to the unit and plug it into the wall outlet.
- Immediately press and hold the 'Select' button for 5 seconds to disable self-protection mode.
- Turn on the cold water supply valve and the feed water adapter, then open the Pureit faucet.
- Check for any leaks at all connections. If leaks are present, turn off the faucet and purifier, then re-check tubing connections.
- Set a timer and allow the Pureit faucet to run for 2 hours. The filter life indicator lights will turn blue during flushing.
- After 2 hours, close the faucet and wait for 24 hours.
- After the 24-hour waiting period, open the Pureit faucet again and flush the system for another 2 hours. Continue checking for leaks.
- Finally, re-enable self-protection mode by unplugging the purifier and plugging it back into the power outlet. All three lights will flash, and the purifier will beep three times to indicate power is on. The purifier will then auto-flush for 20 seconds. Wait for this auto-flush to complete before turning on the faucet for drinking water.
