  1. Tatalaina: Carefully remove the Ooni Volt 2 from its packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Tu'uga: Place the oven on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the oven for ventilation.
  3. Stone Installation: Insert the cordierite pizza stone into the oven. Ensure it is seated correctly on the internal supports.
  4. So'oga Malosi: Plug the power cord into the oven and then into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Uluai mu-i totonu: Before first use, operate the oven at its maximum temperature (850°F) for 30 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. Ensure good ventilation during this process.

6.2. Selecting a Cooking Mode

The Ooni Volt 2 offers several preset cooking modes, optimized for different pizza styles and general baking. Use the control dial and interface buttons to navigate.

6.2.1. Neapolitan Pizza Mode

This mode is designed for high-temperature cooking, reaching up to 850°F, to achieve a classic Neapolitan crust with leopard spotting in approximately 90 seconds.

  • Select the Neapolitan pizza icon on the interface.
  • Allow the oven to preheat fully until the target temperature is reached.
  • Use a pizza peel to launch your pizza into the oven.

This mode operates at a lower temperature (around 600°F) to produce a uniformly golden-brown and crispy crust.

  • Select the Thin & Crispy pizza icon on the interface.
  • Preheat the oven to the target temperature.
  • Launch your pizza and cook until desired crispness and color are achieved.

6.2.3. Pan Pizza Mode

Optimized for pan pizzas, this mode provides even heat for a golden-brown crust and a soft, airy interior, typically at 530°F.

  • Select the Pan pizza icon on the interface.

7.1. Cleaning the Pizza Stone

  • Allow the oven and stone to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Scrape off any excess food residue with a brush or scraper.
  • The stone can be flipped over between uses to burn off residue from the underside during cooking.
  • Do not use soap or water on the cordierite stone, as it is porous and will absorb liquids.

7.2. Cleaning the Oven Interior and Exterior

  • Ensure the oven is unplugged and cool.
