  • LAP RESET BALL: In Pitch Counter mode, increments 'Balls'. In Stopwatch mode, records lap/split times and resets.
  • START STOP STRIKE: In Pitch Counter mode, increments 'Strikes'. In Stopwatch mode, starts and stops the timer.
  • C-RES Lap/Split: Clears current readings or resets the stopwatch.
  • TULAGA: Toggles between Pitch Counter, Stopwatch, and Pitch Speed modes.
  • A/B TEAM: Toggles between Pitcher A and Pitcher B in Pitch Counter mode.

The Ultrak 430 is powered by a 2032 lithium battery. The battery compartment is located on the back of the device. Use a small screwdriver to open the compartment, insert the battery with the positive (+) side facing up, and secure the cover.

The device should power on automatically once the battery is installed. If not, press any button to activate the display. The device features an auto shut-off to conserve battery life.

1. Pitch Counter Mode:

This mode allows tracking of balls, strikes, total pitches, and strike percentage for two different pitchers.

  1. Oomi le TULAGA button until "PITCH COUNTER" is indicated on the display.
  2. To increment 'Balls', press the LAP RESET BALL faamau.
  3. To increment 'Strikes', press the START STOP STRIKE faamau.
  4. The display will show the current ball/strike count, total pitches, and strike percentage.
  5. To toggle between Pitcher A and Pitcher B, press the A/B TEAM faamau.
  6. To clear the current pitcher's count, press the C-RES Lap/Split faamau.

2. Pitch Speed Timer Mode:

This mode calculates the speed of a thrown ball, suitable for baseball, softball, Pony, and Little League.

  1. Oomi le TULAGA button until "SPEED MODE" is indicated.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts or refer to the specific timing method for accurate speed measurement.
  3. The display will show the calculated speed in MPH or KMPH.

3. Stopwatch Mode:

The 2-memory stopwatch function allows for recording lap and split times, useful for various athletic activities.

  1. Oomi le TULAGA button until "STOPWATCH" is indicated.

When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, it's time to replace the 2032 lithium battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.
