Your walkie talkies come with rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries. For optimal performance, fully charge the devices before first use.

  1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the side or bottom of the walkie talkie.
  2. Connect one end of the provided USB-C charging cable to the walkie talkie.

  4. The battery indicator on the LCD display will show charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

2. Kiina/Tape

  • Mo le fa'agaoioia: Oomi ma uu le Power (U) button until the LCD display lights up.
  • Ina ia tape: Oomi ma uu le Power (U) button until the LCD display turns off.

Fa'atonuga o Galuega

1. Fetuunai le Volume

While the walkie talkie is on, use the Luga (▲) ma lalo (▼) buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The volume level will be displayed on the LCD.

2. Filifilia o se Alaleo

The T-388 has 22 main channels. To communicate with another walkie talkie, both devices must be on the same channel and sub-channel.

  1. Oomi le MENU button once. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
  2. Fa'aaoga le Luga (▲) or lalo (▼) fa'amau e filifili ai le auala e te mana'o ai (1-22).
  3. Oomi le TALANOAGA button to confirm your selection and exit the menu, or press MENU again to proceed to sub-channel settings.

3. Setting a Sub-Channel (CTCSS/DCS)

The T-388 supports 99 sub-channels (privacy codes) to minimize interference from other users on the same main channel. Both walkie talkies must have the same main channel and sub-channel to communicate.

  1. Oomi le MENU button twice. The sub-channel number on the LCD will flash.
  2. Fa'aaoga le Luga (▲) or lalo (▼) buttons to select your desired sub-channel (0-99). Setting to 0 disables the sub-channel.
  3. Oomi le TALANOAGA button to confirm your selection and exit the menu, or press MENU again to proceed to other settings.

4. Tuuina atu ma Mauaina

  • To transmit: Press and hold the TALK (PTT) button. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the walkie talkie approximately 5-10 cm from your mouth. Release the button when you finish speaking.
  • To receive: Simply listen. The walkie talkie will automatically receive signals when the TALANOAGA e le oomiina le faamau.

5. Mataitu Galuega

O le MON button allows you to temporarily disable the squelch function to listen for weak signals on the current channel. This can be useful for checking if a channel is clear before transmitting or for hearing faint transmissions.

6. Call Alert (Ring Tone)

To send a call alert to other walkie talkies on the same channel and sub-channel:

  • Oomi le TALANOAGA button twice quickly. A ring tone will be transmitted.

7. Roger Beep

The Roger Beep is an audible tone transmitted when you release the TALANOAGA button, signaling to other users that you have finished speaking. This feature can be enabled or disabled via the menu.

  1. Oomi le MENU button multiple times until the Roger Beep icon appears on the LCD.
  2. Fa'aaoga le Luga (▲) or lalo (▼) buttons to turn the Roger Beep ON or OFF.
  3. Oomi le TALANOAGA faamau e faamaonia ma alu ese.

8. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)

VOX allows you to transmit without pressing the TALANOAGA button. The walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.

  1. Oomi le MENU button multiple times until the VOX icon appears on the LCD.
  2. Fa'aaoga le Luga (▲) or lalo (▼) buttons to select a VOX sensitivity level (e.g., 1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or turn VOX OFF.
  3. Oomi le TALANOAGA faamau e faamaonia ma alu ese.

9. Loka Keypad

The keypad lock prevents accidental changes to your settings.

  • Mo le loka: Oomi ma uu le MENU button until the Key Lock icon appears on the LCD.
  • To unlock: Press and hold the MENU button again until the Key Lock icon disappears.

10. Integrated Flashlight

The walkie talkie includes a small flashlight for convenience.

  • To turn on/off: Press the LAMP faamau.
